Project Details

In this practice project, I aimed to create the ultimate match cut—one that is seamless and smooth. I learned that the best approach involves deforming the vector to closely resemble the elements being cut into, allowing for a transition, and a cut that occurs at the Fastest moment.

Behind The Scenes

Creating the 3D turn for the phone was challenging due to the many elements it contains. An actual 3D model was an option, but I preferred the control that shape paths in After Effects provide.

The hands and fingers were controlled by shape path, which offers more control than using the puppet tool or other methods.
